Greg Abate Quartet
Recorded at The Packing House, February 27, 2021
Viewing available 12:00am Sunday, May 2, 2021 through 11:59pm Friday, December 31, 2021
Thank you for joining us for this first Virtual Concert in EC-CHAP’s Jazz Series!
The Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance (EC-CHAP) is honored to feature the Greg Abate Quartet for this debut performance. Greg Abate (soprano and alto sax) is joined by Matt deChamplain (piano), Lou Bocciarelli (bass), and Ben Bilello (drums). As you know, Jazz is a language to itself - and as you will see, these accomplished artists are fluent in all dialects.
This performance was recorded live at The Packing House on Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2021. This represents an organic no-frills production, as you would likely experience it if you were sitting at a table in The Packing House (except for the low intimate lighting).
The concert is approximately 54-minutes in length, and features the following playlist: 1. “And Then Again” (Kenny Barron); 2. “Beach Day” (Greg Abate); 3. “The Fifth Season” (Greg Abate); 4. “Family” (Greg Abate); 5. “Sunshower” (Kenny Barron); 6. “Voyage” (Kenny Barron)
Several of these selections are included on Greg’s newest double album, Magic Dance, scheduled for release in April 2021 by Whaling City Sound.
Thank you for your support and love of Jazz! We would welcome your comments as we plan future Virtual Performances at The Packing House (email: info@ec-chap.org).
We hope to see you “LIVE” in the fall!
